It gives me great pleasure today to now dedicate an article to the The Magna Defender. I got my new Lighting Series figure of him now and this is a wonderful way to commemorate it. In Lost Galaxy The Magna Defender was introduced as the very first PR Anti-hero. While he is a strong fighter against evil aliens, he also is often preoccupied with his own goals. Magna Defender's origin was revealed in the second chapter and we are introduced to his son Zika. Zika fought by his side against Scorpius, Captain Mutiny, Fashface, Motor Mantis, and Impostera. All these monsters ultimately returned to later fight the Rangers. The Original fights occurred Three-Thousand years in the past. Zika proved to be an honorable fighter despite his young age. However Scorpius and his cohorts kidnapped Zika and used him as bait to trap his father. Zika was killed in the fight. Turning bitter, Magna Defender threw himself into his work and soon met Treachron. Treachron became his new evil rival and both sought to control The Lights of Orion rumored to have incredible powers. Magna Defender found the Lights and took them to the planet of Mirinoi. Treacharon caught him off guard with an ambush. The Lights were lost and Magna Defender was buried alive in a crevice in the planet's crust. He makes his epic return just in time to save Leo the Red Ranger during his final fight with Furio. Furio was also the villain who started a quest for the Lights in the timeline of this season. After coming back Magna Defender and the Rangers interacted many times. While he often proved to be a valuable ally, they also found themselves at odds sometimes, because Magna Defender wanted revenge for the death of his son. Magna Defender used his amazing Torozord for the above ground battles.
Manga Defender was voiced by Kerrigan Mahan. I still remember our brief meeting at Power Morphicon. I really hope someday I will have the opportunity to talk him again. This meeting was first mentioned on here in the article titled "Tommy Oliver and The 7 Generals". Treachron who also fought Leo several times and became a common target of Trakeena who wanted his power for herself also played a big part in these episodes. He was voiced by Derek Stephen Prince. DSP has voiced many other recurring villains as well as Auric the conqueror from Zeo. Even though she was only in two episodes I highly admired the sassiness of Imspostera. She was voiced by Nancy Iderstine. Zika was voiced by Ryan James. Leo came to respect the Magna Defender's ambition despite not always agreeing with his methods. In the later episodes Magna Defender revealed his secret to Leo. Leo's brother Mike fell into the same crevice on Mirinoi. MD used his strength and spirit to charge up his body and escape the crevice. Mike started to act as his conscience despite MD often refusing his advice causing his powers to weaken in battle. It was Leo who finished off Treachron in a one-on-one fight while his teammates fought his allies the Shark-brothers. Leo, Mike, and Zika inspired MD to make the ultimate sacrifice and save the colony from certain destruction in the episode "Retrobuttion Day." MD's saga was a terrific set of episodes and really helped cement the popularity of this season. His personal crusade and daring spirit set him well apart from previous inhuman allies. He also had a really cool battle theme. His fighting style was really bold and he always knocked his enemies to the ground. He had interesting struggles and a bitter but also noble heart. I made this a 2-part event so next time we can talk about Mike Corbet and their noble alliance they formed after Mike's return. This weekend will be Easter 2020. The Magna Defender and I wish you all a safe and happy holiday! The Mike article will be up soon.
I love the vocabulary you use. The details get overwhelming sometimes, with so many events and characters. But reading of Trakeena's sassiness is tantalizing. Great job.
