Jungle Fury's Howling Father Figure!

In honor of Father's Day I would like to talk about the Power Ranger who reminds me the most of my dad. RJ aka Robert James is the very first Violet Ranger and he is one of the few mentors who got powers.This tradition begin with Tommy in Dino Thunder and recently reemerged during Dino Super Charge with Kendall Morgan. There have been five Mentor Rangers so far. Back to RJ, he was a very strong mentor and fighter. RJ also runs Jungle Karma Pizza. This is a strictly vegetarian Pizza restaurant. You can still get Pepperoni Pizza but the pepperoni is made from tofu. RJ is a strong defender of animals. He even once attended a fishing event but sabotaged the fishermen by scaring the fish away. RJ gives an odd answer when asked about how he created the Jungle Fury powers and weapons. He says, "I knew a guy who knew another guy who knew another guy who knew another guy and he knew a guy who had an uncle who had a connection." Very Confusing! RJ strongly promotes healthy eating and Zen training. This is why I associate RJ with my dad because he too is a strong promoter of healthy eating and nutrition. My dad practices meditation too. RJ often meditaties as well. My dad has been studying nutrition for as long as I have known him. He is always discovering new and amazing facts. He hopes to spread his nutrition facts around the world. My dad sometimes goes a bit overboard but I support him as best I can.

Both RJ and my dad can often be goofy. Sometimes their silliness masks a clever idea or sometimes it's plain silly. RJ had a conflict with his father Finn. Finn was a Shark Master and he wanted RJ to follow in his footsteps. However RJ refused and they became distant from each other. Similar to RJ and Finn, My dad and his father had a growing up conflict because his father worked for the government and my dad rarely got to see him. Overtime RJ and Finn made up and even joined forces to stop Dai Shi and Jarrod's plan with the Spirit Rangers. Finn is able to release the Shark Spirit Ranger, whose costume is light blue.

RJ also was briefly cursed as a man-wolf after escaping Jarrod and Dai Shi. During his final transformation Fran talked him down and helped him come back. RJ than took up a morpher and became a full time Ranger. RJ otfen solo-piloted The Jungle-Pride Megazord in the field. RJ is played by David De Lautour. Master Finn is played by Paul Gittins. I also enjoyed watching RJ teach Casey the Red Ranger and help him grow as my dad has helped me. The power of the Wolf is strong with RJ. He had a really cool Zord too. My dad has often asked me if there could be a superhero who promotes nutrition. RJ fits pretty well! He also stands out amongst the PR mentors because he was more father figure like and less stern or obessive. Happy Father's Day Dad!
