I've already talked about Ninja Storm a lot, but I haven't talked about Shane Clarke yet! Shane is the team's Red Ranger. His Ninja Element is Air. Shane is a skateboarder and I liked skateboarding myself as a kid. Also they did one episode where it was revealed that Shane has a very intimidating older brother and I can relate to that because my brother Noah who I've mentioned before on this site has sometimes ticked me off over the years. Some people say that Ninja Storm was a very light-hearted season. I think that a lot of those people overlook the story of "Shane's Karma." This epic 2-part story shows Shane defending Skyla who is a transforming alien. Skyla appears human in the story but hinted at having a powerful spirit form as well. This is where Vexacus was introduced. Vexacus was one of the trickiest villains in the entire season! Vexacus wanted to steal Skyla's alien powers. Skyla reveals to Shane that they met years ago when he was little and he saved her in her spirit form. Skyla says that it is Karmaidian tradition to pass your powers on to Someone you see a noble spirit inside. Shane grow fond of Skyla during their short time together. He fought really hard to protect her but in the end she had to say goodbye. Her powers gave Shane an incredible battlizer. I think Shane's battlizer is one of the best ones ever. He has wings, a fire sword and a Hawk shaped fire blaster. Shane used his new powers to destroy Vexacus's ship, which stranded him on Earth so he reluctantly joined forces with Lothor.

Shane has a very stubborn personality. He is usually very focused in battle but when he and Dustin are hanging out, he is usually very relaxed and very charismatic. Shane sees Dustin and Tori like his family and watches out for them strongly. He was the most reluctant about trusting The Thunder Rangers but they grew to be good friends over time. Shane was very committed to his hobby. There was this one skateboarding move he could never master. I was legit frustrated we never got to see him do a perfect "One-Eighty-Fakey." Shane is the least slacker-like of the main trio. In fact probably the main reason he used to miss class a lot might have to do with Dustin. However Dustin always has Shane's back in a clinch moment. Shane is featured in the Dino Thunder-Ninja Storm team-up as a teacher at the Wind Ninja Academy. Over the years I've thought a lot about Shane's last scene in the finale of Ninja Storm. He chose to be a Ninja teacher instead of going on a magazine sponsored national skateboarding tour. I have to admit I would be kinda divided on those two choices! Shane must have a very strong hero instinct to have resisted that other offer. Shane is overlooked by many other fans but yeah I like him a lot! Shane is played by Pua Magasiva. Skyla was played by Jaime Passier-Armstrong. Vexacus is voiced by Michael Hurst. I do sometimes wish that 2-parter was a 3-parter but yeah Shane is definitely a cool Red Ranger!
