In Conjunction with doing a post about Mora, I may as well talk about her boss too, and why shouldn't I? He is a super-cool villain! Here he is Folks, Emperor Grum. He is definitely one of the coolest characters of SPD. Emperor Grum has one of the biggest egos of all the Boss Villains, but to be fair, he does have a lot to be proud of. He conquerered Sirius, Kat Manx's home Planet, Atlinia, and many others. As he, himself states there was one only thing preventing him from making an attack on Earth in the beginning. His lack of a Proton Accelarator. Once this item is provided by his somewhat reluctant but still faithful ally Piggy, he pursues this new mission with strong vigor and impressive dedication. Grum has a deadly spaceship at his command, with powerful lasers and missiles. Grum has a powerful battle staff and a Skull decorated motorcycle. He can take human form if necessary. He also has only one horn this is because he lost the other in battle against Cruger during a fight on Sirius.

The Grum\Cruger conflict is a major factor in the SPD Series. Cruger swore he would never pick up his sword again after his failure on Sirius. Grum attempted to use this Pledge to his advantage more than once during than once during the early episodes. While Grum does use monsters often, he is in no way adverse to getting his own hands dirty, and often goes out seeking battle. Grum does not enjoy having a childish minded Partner (Mora) but he does respect her clever planning skills. I certainly have been fond of this quote from him ever since I first heard it; "It isn't easy invading the Galaxy and raising a child." Grum and Broodwing's relationship relies mainly on an exchange of goods and services. However after many failures Grum started demanding to get robots for free, which eventually turned Broodwing against him. Also as I talked about in my last entry, he eventually punished Mora by turning her back into her adult form. Grum's biggest conflict however is with his own boss. Omni was already inside Grum's head from the begining of the season, and they argue constantly in secret. Omni had no body at first which is why Grum worked to make him one. With Broodwing no longer helping him, Grum looked for allies elsewhere and recruited the A-squad to his team. He had a lot in his favor during the final episodes, and he might have actually won if Piggy had not betrayed him. Serious Irony there! Grum was captured by Cruger in the final fight and Omni was destroyed by the Swat Megazord. Grum is one of the few Master Villains who was not destroyed. Grum was played by Rene Nafhau. He is a truly crazy character and a powerful force to be reckoned with. And who knows maybe he'll escape someday and if he does all of Future Earth better watch out
