The Movie history theme Article series now continues! While reviewing the classic Power Ranger Movies, I have also been brainstorming on other fun topics to go over at this time. To that end I rewatched the other film by Saban Entertainment to feature Blake Foster aka the Blue Turbo Ranger. For those who have not seen this film; It was the third entry in the live Action Casper franschise; The film is titled; "Casper Meets Wendy" The story features a Friendly Ghost (Casper) and A good little Witch (Wendy played by a young Hillary Duff). The character of Josh Jetman was meant to be a rival for Wendy's attention. It is interesting to me how different Josh and Justin two characters played by the same actor are. Justin was chosen to be a Ranger, for being noble, smart, kind to others, and eager to help people in trouble. Josh is the exact opposite, Self obsessed, cocky, probably rich, a jock, and very overconfident. There was also a scene that briefly showed Josh's parents. They're both alive and happy together. Justin lost his mom at a young age. He and his dad had some hard times afterwards, but becoming a Power Ranger allowed him to see the world from a new perspective and made him want to do all he can to make a real difference in the world. This is an example of how tragic events often give birth to beautiful things. In this case the young boy who lost his mother stepped up when the world needed a hero!

Casper had to conquer several obstacles in his pursuit of true friendship, however Josh was one of few characters who actually broke Casper's confidence. That was a rare feat. When he saw him using Wendy's Wand, he thought she trusted him. Upon realizing the true nature of the situation, Casper learned Josh stole the wand, he then used his Ghost powers to take it back. Josh and his friend were turned into horses. Similar to Josh, Justin also went through an animal bonding event in the episode "Little Strong Man" where he received ant powers after a strange ant bit him. This episode taught Justin the importance of staying true to himself and not taking his true attributes for granite. A lesson that Josh could certainly stand to learn. Bravo to Blake Foster for playing two characters with such interesting contrasts and certain twists that inspired their choices in life. The fact remains however only Justin was suited to be a Power Ranger. Zordon would've turned Josh away without even thinking twice! More Movie history coming up next time! I know you like the Blue Ranger a lot. How remarkable to combine a Ranger with Casper. That seems targeted at a younger audience than most of their movies. And I am delighted they were turned into horses! That fits my notion of the good life. I wouldn't mind being a horse if I had a nice rider. Perhaps you can imagine a blue horse!
